Poor Surround Performance and Persistent Hissing Noise – Loewe Cinema Set 553

Dear Loewe Support Team,
In December 2024, I purchased the Loewe Cinema Set 553, and after setting it up, I connected all the components — Klang Bar5, MR5, MR3, and Sub5 — to my Wi-Fi network individually to enable the multiroom function. Then, I paired the MR5, MR3, and Sub5 speakers with the Bar5 as part of the surround setup.
However, I’m very disappointed with the surround sound performance. In surround mode, it feels like almost all the sound is coming only from the Bar5, while the MR5 and MR3 speakers are very weak. I switched both MR5 and MR3 to the “Large” setting, but this did not improve the surround experience.
In addition, there is a constant hissing noise coming from all MR5 and MR3 speakers. This noise becomes even more noticeable when I lower the volume. Interestingly, when I connect directly to the MR5 or MR3 via Bluetooth or WiFi(airplay) from my phone, the sound quality is excellent and completely free of noise. The hissing only appears when the speakers are paired with the Bar5 — whether I’m watching movies or listening to music in surround mode.
I previously contacted Loewe Support, but there has been no progress or solution provided so far. From my observation, it seems the WDAL connection might not be transmitting the signal cleanly, resulting in noise and poor surround separation.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. I invested in Loewe products with high expectations, but the current sound experience is far below the premium quality I anticipated.

  • This is a known issue for which Loewe has not provided a resolution. In my case, the matter was ultimately settled when I requested a refund.
